Fanart - Feelings have no shape

I'm still sad that I missed the
hd_holidays sign-ups, so I drew this fanart for the challenge over at
hp_fringeart. I always wanted to draw Snape/Lily. I tried to use Painter X and I have to say I love it. It's so much easier than Photoshop, there's a mixer for colors and several settings for the brushes. But I still feel more comfortable with natural media.
Title: Feelings have no shape
Characters: Severus Snape, James Potter, Lily Evans (implied James/Lily, unrequited Snape/Lily)
Rating: G
Media: Painter X and Tablet
Notes: Done for the
hp_fringeart November challenge: Unrequited Love
Warnings: Snape is way too handsome. Sorry. Image heavy.

Ah, feel free to friend me if you like my icons of fanart, no need to ask. :)

Date: 2008-11-27 11:45 am (UTC)I like how you gave each of them a dominant colour and feature: James the vivid, greenish blue and his usual play with the snitch; Lily the red and her defiant expression and wild hair; and poor Severus the nightly blue and his desperate posture.
I also like the bits of the colours from James' portrait reappear in Severus' frame.
And with each frame, we get a more intimate view of the person on display.
Thank you so much for sharing!

Date: 2008-11-27 09:28 pm (UTC)This was the part I loved most: thinking about James, Lily and Severus, then choose a color that could somehow relate to each one of them. Usually, I don't like to use colors, but it was interesting to try.
