Fanart - Feelings have no shape

I'm still sad that I missed the [livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays sign-ups, so I drew this fanart for the challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] hp_fringeart. I always wanted to draw Snape/Lily. I tried to use Painter X and I have to say I love it. It's so much easier than Photoshop, there's a mixer for colors and several settings for the brushes. But I still feel more comfortable with natural media.

Title: Feelings have no shape
Characters: Severus Snape, James Potter, Lily Evans (implied James/Lily, unrequited Snape/Lily)
Rating: G
Media: Painter X and Tablet
Notes: Done for the [livejournal.com profile] hp_fringeart November challenge: Unrequited Love
Warnings: Snape is way too handsome. Sorry. Image heavy.

Ah, feel free to friend me if you like my icons of fanart, no need to ask. :)

Yes, you have to get used to draw digitally. Do you use a tablet? You have to practice quite a lot - just do straight lines, curved lines, stupid shapes and you'll soon get the knack of it. I spent about one year practicing before my pics got better. Here are some useful tutorials about digital drawing that might interest you - I've collected them at my DA account:

As for watercolour - I can very warmly recommend this book - it gives you the most useful hints, and the artist ist just amazing. :-)))

So glad you like the way I use watercolours, thank you! <3

Yes, I use a tablet, a Wacom, but not a professional one, they're too expensive. *sighs*

Thank you for all the tutorials! They'll be surely helpful.

And thanks for the book recommendation too, it looks very interesting. Actually, I have some books about watercolors, I just have to find the time to read them.

Thanks a lot! :D
